This is an extremely attractive sword because of the mounts and of the exceptional blade.  To start with the blade has no flaws and is well balanced.  The hada/steel is forged very tightly and has a milky look to it.  The hamon/temper is very active and is loaded with nie and nio mixed.  Making this style of hamon is very difficult, but the Owari smiths were known for this type of unique workmanship.  The point is full tempered.  Please look at the blade picture blown up to see how incredibly interesting this workmanship is.  The mounts on this fine sword are also very interesting.  The saya was slightly restored and is very unique.  The fittings are of good quality and the handle has a string wrap in gold setting off the overall beauty of these mounts.  It would be a good idea to make a shirasaya for this sword some day.  This sword comes with papers and original mounts.
