This is the OMURA Shigehide and was in the Edo Naotane Mon. Naotane school swords are very desirable for their workmanship. Shigehide died in Meji 5 (1872) at the age of 60 and was from Hizen. His blades have nenki of TEMPO, KAEI and ANSEI.  This is a fine tanto.  The hada is well forged and is itame.  The tanto is in an interesting kanmuri-otoshi style.  The hamon has very nice hataraki/activity  and some masame hada can be found on this blade.
